Intense Pulse Light Therapy (IPL)

A high intensity flash lamp provides polychromatic light with wavelengths extending from the visible spectrum into the infrared (560nm - 1200nm). Interchangeable treatment heads determine the exact wavelength used. The skin is protected with a combination of a chilled treatment head and a cooling gel. Some patients may also prefer to apply a topical anesthetic cream before each treatment for enhanced comfort.

The light passes into the skin and as it reaches the desired target, liverspots, broken and dilated blood vessels, wrinkles, and hair follicles converts to heat energy. The heat then eliminates them over a series of treatment sessions.
